What a pleasure it is to be part of the Royal Free Singers!  Being a member has opened up so many opportunities to learn and appreciate the best choral music, to make lasting friendships and to share time with other singing enthusiasts: not to mention all the fun!

If any of these apply to you, please get in touch. New members are always welcome - and there are no auditions!

You can try us for free for three rehearsals before making a commitment.

It’s best to start at the beginning of term if possible, to be ready for the concert – but just get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.

Just send us an email - membership@royalfreesingers.org.uk and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

I'm so pleased to be part of the RFS, albeit a relative "newbie" of just under two years.  Congratulations to Ben on 45 years! I wonder how many individuals have been members in that time? What a difference he will have made to them all - giving them the opportunity to be part of a 'team', to make new friends, to grow in confidence maybe but most importantly to sing their hearts out.

Ben has introduced us to a wide range of music  - some unusual and testing. He has managed to get the choir to aspire to greater things and raised the standard amazingly for a choir that doesn’t require an audition.  Also, to his credit he engages good quality musicians and soloists, which makes a huge difference.  We like working with them and I think they appreciate the standard we achieve.

Joining RFS has been like joining a large, warm, slightly chaotic family. Somehow birthdays get remembered, triumphs and tragedies are marked and the singing weaves its way around these very human moments.

The Royal Free Singers has a reach far beyond that rehearsal room, a continuing legacy, founded all those years ago on compassion and a recognition of the things that bring us together rather than divide us. It’s a bit of warmth and brightness and I’m so happy to be part of it .

Clare, Alto Section

What a thrill it is for me to be in the choir - to be part of such a wonderful organisation and to be able to sing such wonderful music. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be singing such works. All thanks to Ben and his vision to be inclusive to all abilities - such a generous gesture.

We have weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, leading to 3 main concerts per year in the local area. In addition to the concerts, we also have day trips, social evenings and – every 2 years – an exciting European Tour.

Please see FAQs for all the information you need – but any questions, just ask!
